SkyPort

Every computer you own, in one room.

SkyPort puts your Mac and your PCs side by side in your Meta Quest 3 or 3S. Each computer can bring one screen or several, and every screen stays live at the same time.

Free desktop app for macOS and Windows. Connects over Wi-Fi, or by USB cable.

Built for more than one machine

SkyPort was built from the start to connect to several computers at once, so the Mac you work on and the PCs you build and play on sit next to each other in the same space.

Mac and Windows together

SkyPort Agent runs on both. Pair each computer once, and they all show up together.

Every display, not just the main one

A computer with more than one monitor can send up to three of them, each as its own screen. Pick which ones in the agent.

Arrange them your way

Grab a screen to move it, push it back or pull it closer with the thumbstick, and drag a corner to resize it.

Your room stays in view

Passthrough is on by default, so your desk, your keyboard and your coffee stay in view. Turn it off in the menu for a calm, distraction-free space.

Set up in three steps

You do this once per computer. After that, SkyPort reconnects to your paired computers on its own when you open it.

  1. Install SkyPort Agent

Install it on each Mac or Windows PC you want in the headset. On a Mac, allow Screen Recording when it asks, then click Relaunch in the agent.

  2. Scan the code

In SkyPort on your Quest, open the menu, choose Scan QR code and look at the code the agent shows. Click Allow on the computer, and the two are paired.

  3. Place your screens

The displays you picked in the agent appear as screens in front of you. Move and resize each one until your workspace fits the way you sit.

Your headset and computers need to be on the same network, at home or at work. A computer can be on Wi-Fi or plugged into the router. Prefer a cable? One computer can connect by USB. See how to set it up.

Wi-Fi, or a cable for one computer

Most people connect every computer over Wi-Fi. One computer can use a USB cable instead while the others stay on Wi-Fi, and each computer keeps its own connection. The cable needs developer mode on your Quest, which takes a few one-time steps.

Set up a USB connectionAbout 15 minutes, once per headset and computer. Wi-Fi needs none of this.
  1. Get a free Meta developer account

Developer mode is a Meta setting meant for app developers, and Meta asks for a verified developer account first. Sign in at developers.meta.com/horizon with the Meta account on your Quest, create an organization (any name works), and verify your account with a phone number or a payment card. There is no charge.

  2. Turn on developer mode

In the Meta Horizon app on your phone, tap the headset icon, choose your Quest, and tap Headset settings. Tap Developer mode, turn it on, then restart the headset.

  3. Install Android platform tools on the computer

This is Google's free adb tool, which SkyPort Agent uses to talk to the Quest over the cable. On a Mac with Homebrew, run brew install android-platform-tools in Terminal. On Windows, run winget install Google.PlatformTools in Terminal. If Android Studio is already installed, its copy works too.

  4. Plug in and allow USB debugging

Connect the Quest to the computer with a USB-C cable that carries data, not just power. Put the headset on, and when it asks to allow USB debugging, check Always allow from this computer and choose Allow. On Windows, if the agent still finds no Quest, install Meta's Oculus ADB driver from the Meta developer site.

  5. Choose USB in SkyPort Agent

Open SkyPort Agent on that computer and click USB Direct. The button turns on only when the agent can see your Quest on the cable. The agent says Connected over USB once SkyPort on your Quest is using the cable, and tells you if the cable is unplugged.

The Quest has one USB-C port, so only one computer can use a cable at a time. Your other computers stay on Wi-Fi.

No accounts. No SkyPort servers.

Your screens stay on your network

Every connection SkyPort makes is directly between your headset and your own computers, over your network or a cable. Your screen is never sent to us.

Nothing to sign up for

No SkyPort account, no email, no login. Install it, pair it, use it.

Pairing you control

A headset joins over Wi-Fi only after you click Allow on the computer. Forget a headset in the agent to take its access away.

How many computers can I connect at once?

The headset menu lists up to four computers, and each computer can send up to three of its displays. Three or four screens is a comfortable workspace for most people.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for. Pairing happens directly between your headset and each computer.

Do my headset and computers have to be on the same network?

Yes. They can be at home, at the office or anywhere else, as long as they share a network and the network lets devices reach each other. Guest and public Wi-Fi often keeps devices apart, and a VPN on the computer can block the connection. SkyPort can't reach a computer from a different network or over the internet.

Why does the Mac ask for Screen Recording?

Screen Recording lets SkyPort Agent show your screen in the headset. After you allow it, click Relaunch in the agent so the change takes effect. If you turn on sound, macOS also asks for permission to capture audio.

Does sound come through?

Yes, if you want it. Sound is off by default. Turn it on for each computer in the agent or from the headset, and it plays in your Quest.

Can I control my computers from the headset?

Not in this version. You keep using each computer's own keyboard and mouse, and SkyPort shows its screen in the headset. With passthrough on, you can see your keyboard while you work.

Can I connect with a USB cable?

Yes, for one computer at a time. It takes a few one-time steps, including turning on developer mode on your Quest: follow the USB setup guide. Most people won't need it. The cable mainly gives a lower, steadier delay.

Can I play PC VR games with it?

SkyPort is built for working across several computers. For PC VR gaming you'll get a better experience from a streamer designed for one gaming PC.

Text looks small. What helps?

Make the screen bigger or bring it closer, or raise the text size on the computer.
